Therapy for when the way you’ve been living isn’t working anymore.
You may be dealing with anxiety or overthinking, struggling in a relationship, questioning your career, or simply feeling stuck or unfulfilled. Together, we'll work to understand what's beneath these struggles, the patterns that keep you stuck, and what it might take to begin moving forward.
Knowing something isn't working doesn’t always tell you how to change it.
Many people come to therapy because something in their life isn't working. Anxiety may feel overwhelming, a relationship may feel stuck, or you may feel dissatisfied or unfulfilled without fully understanding why.
You may even understand quite a bit about yourself already. Maybe you've tried therapy before but felt like you mostly talked without anything really changing. The same patterns keep showing up, and it's hard to understand why or what actually needs to shift.
Therapy can be a place to look more closely at what's happening beneath the surface. Together, we'll work to understand the patterns that keep you stuck, what's driving them, and how you can begin responding differently. The goal isn't simply to understand yourself better. It's to help something in your life actually change.
How I Approach Therapy
My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I want therapy to feel like a real conversation, where you can be honest about what's happening in your life without feeling judged or like you have to present a certain version of yourself.
I'm an active therapist. I'll listen closely, but I won't simply sit back and leave you to figure everything out on your own. I'll ask questions, offer my perspective, point out things I notice, and sometimes challenge you when I think it may be helpful.
I draw from evidence-based approaches including CBT, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and psychodynamic therapy. I don't believe any one approach works for everyone, so we'll use what is most helpful for understanding you and creating meaningful change.
A Particular Focus on Health Anxiety
Health anxiety can make ordinary uncertainty feel impossible to tolerate. A sensation in your body, something a doctor says, or even a passing thought can quickly lead to Googling, checking, researching, asking for reassurance, or trying to convince yourself that you're okay.
These things may bring relief for a little while, but the doubt eventually returns.
I have particular experience helping people understand and step out of this cycle. The goal isn't to convince you that nothing bad will ever happen. It's to help you become more comfortable with uncertainty so you can spend less time trying to feel safe and more time actually living your life.
